What is ramon ortiz injury?

Ramon Ortiz, a former MLB pitcher, suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing arm in June 2013 while pitching for the Toronto Blue Jays in a game against the Texas Rangers. This injury required Tommy John surgery, a procedure in which a ligament in the elbow is replaced with a tendon from elsewhere in the body. After undergoing the surgery, Ortiz faced a long road to recovery and ultimately did not return to pitch in the major leagues.
